So on the first ‘actual’ class of the semester, our prof. Mr. Andrew Tedford tells us to draw a bunny in 10 minutes. Not so easy but I gave it a shot and here’s what I came up with.
Wow, looking at this thing kind of disgusts me. I used to draw some anime in high school, but never got into drawing animals. So I did have some expectations of myself, but not really. After we drew the pictures, Andrew got us to lay them out on the floor at the front of the class so that everyone can see what each other did. Luckily we weren’t required to write our names on them so no one knew who did what. And it was only the second week of class so no one really knew anyone anyways. Phew. As I was saying, when we laid the pictures down, I noticed that maybe 95% of the pictures only had one bunny drawing on them. I guess these people were mostly drawing an image they created in their head. For me, I took this as more of a brainstorm exercise. I tried a few things. I even thought about drawing the Playboy bunny.
Next, we were shown how to create a mind map. We used LRRH (Little Red Riding Hood) as a starting point and were expected to branch off from there. Then we had to create a story with some of the ideas on our mind map. Here’s a picture of my mind map and the story that was extracted from it.
Once upon a time, there was a young girl name Red. She had a grandmother that was very old and sick. One day Red decided to go visit her grandmother at her castle in the Village of Creloe. The road to Creoloe was a very dangerous one, but lucky for Red, her grandmother used to be a ninja assassin and had taught Red a thing or two. So Red packed a bulletproof basket full of food and goodies for her grandmother and started her venture to Creloe. Her trip started through the Woods of Glahee which was known for being populated with dragons. She ventured through without fear, but soon ran into a group of not so happy dragons. These were not regular dragons. No. They were mini-dragons, the size of an average human hand, but they were dangerous. So Red, using her ninja skills, grabbed the first dragon that attacked her and used it as nunchucks to whip, slash and beat all the other dragons.
Her journey continued past the Woods of Glahee and into Future City. This was very foreign to Red so she asked a nearby citizen for some directions. Unfortunately, this citizen was a high-tech robo-Tiger that had got off the wrong side of the bed. As soon as Red asked him a question, he took a swing at her and Red blocked it with her bulletproof basket. They went on throwing kicks and punches at each other while coincidentally making their way across the city. Red was starting to get tired and was losing ground. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere, her girlfriends came to her aid. This was her Disney crew from back in the days. Cinderlla, Snow White, Jasmin, Ariel and Belle. Everyone brought their own weapon to the game. Cinderalls was chucking glass slippers while Snow White called in her 7 dwarves to cause some major damage. Jasmin flew in with her magic carpet and Ariel went mermaid mode, slapping robo-Tiger around with her fish tail. Belle was a bit useless so she had to call up her boyfriend, Beast, who came charging in a moment later. Within a few minutes, robo-Tiger was destroyed and his parts were recycled. The Disney crew really wanted to go out to a nearby cafe to catch up and gossip, but Red insisted that she needed to leave to her grandmothers castle. So they bid her farewell and Red continued on past Future City and finally came to Mount Grekol, where her grandmothers castle resided.
Red started her ascent to her grandmothers castle when all of a sudden she her a loud shriek. She knew that was her grandmother in trouble so she hurried up into the castle, through the long corridor, up the spiral staircase, down the hallway and into her grandmothers bedroom. Red’s grandmother was pinned to her bed by the Angel of Death, AKA, AoD, who was ready to steal her soul away into the afterlife. Red immediately went into action, grabbing a nearby mace on the wall and taking a big swing at AoD. The mace went right through as if AoD was just a ghost. AoD looked at Red and Red looked into the eyes of AoD. This was no ordinary Angel of Death, it was Wolf, the Lord of all AoD’s. His gaze froze Red in place and couldn’t move even though her and her grandmothers life depended on it. Red jus looked into Wolf’s eyes, trying to break free from her paralysis. As Wolf was about to suck the soul out of Red, a silver bullet broke through the wall and drove straight through Wolf’s brain. Wolf went down and started to evaporate into thin air. A couple miles away sat John the woodsmen with his Savage 110 BA sniper rifle. He radioed Red and her grandmother asking if everything was alright. They confirmed and then John big them farewell and teleported away.
Red and her grandmother hugged each other and sat, talking about Red’s adventure to her grandmothers house.
THE END!!!
Hope ya’ll enjoyed that story. Just kind of wrote it along the way using ideas off the mind map I made.
